We will be hosting Justin Spratt for his talk about the  "Startup Manifesto". He will also be answering your questions on starting up and funding on January 29th, 2015.

You're invited to attend from 18h00 (GMT +2) at Jozihub (44 Stanley Avenue) . Come one, come all, bring a guest, and come learn and be inspired. You could also meet your future co-founder, employee, investor.

Justin will be sharing his experiences and lessons learnt over 8 years of working with some of South Africa's best technology entrepreneurs such as:

  • Ronnie Apteker (founded of Internet Solutions (IS), SA's first Internet Service Provider)
  • Rob Stokes (Founder & CEO of Quirk)
  • Jeremy Ord (Chairman of Dimension Data)

Who is Justin Spratt?

Justin is the Managing Director of Quirk, the fastet growing agency in South Africa.Among his responsibilities is driving the expansion of Quirk into the rest of Africa, having just set up the Nairobi office.

He has a strong technical background having run the mobile and wireless businesses at Internet Solutions, after having product managed the cloud software business. He's been hacking since 1987, having been given his first computer in 1987 back in Australia where he wrote his first program and has also been an avid blogger since 1999.

Prior to Internet Solutions, Justin worked for investment bank Morgan Stanley in Fixed Income trading, based in London, straight out of university.  

He co-founded web start-up incubator IS Labs while at Internet Solutions and the not-for-profit, GeekRetreat, bringing geeks together over weekends to help communities through technology. He also sits on the advisory boards of JoziHub and TechInBraam, both aimed at drawing investment and training into the technology startup scene in Johannesburg.
